Waxing and Whining

Every year the mice do a number on my beehives.  Those pesky little things are so cute, but can be really damaging to a beehive in winter, especially after a deadout which was the case for all 3 of my hives this year.  I need to replace wax foundation on at least a couple dozen frames.  The nice thing is that I will have a big pile of wax to melt down and try to make candles.

Mice have eaten most of the wax on this frame which must cleaned out before replacing with new wax.
The old wax is all cleaned and scraped out.
I install the new beeswax foundation onto which the bees will build new comb.

5 frames with new wax foundation and the pile of old wax
